Project overveiw
Who was in my group?
My group was a diverse and intricate group. I was partnered with Joseph Guyse and Nadine Fletcher. Joe was fun to work with because we had very different thoughts about the project in general but more specifically we had different ideas of what our final product would look like. Many may think that if we had different ideas we would be bbutting heads 24/7 but, instead of that we looked at it as a way to collaborate. After many re-do's and bringing the rollercoaster home to get extra work on it done, we pulled through... somehow. Nadine really worked more on the literature side and really perfected our CYOA, Which was a life saver. I was excited to work with these people through the project. |
What did I learn in humanities? Well the topic for our group was the American Revolution. When we created our CYOA we wanted there to be truth in it and ties as well. So what we did is put a real character in our story and I thought we learned to put a little reality in it and it'll make your story 30x better. I also learned to look for certain points when I researched which made my groups presentations way better. Our Roller Coasters had to connect to our CYOA's, so throughout our whole project humanities was imbedded in it. What did I learn in Physic's? The main thing that I learned on the Physics side of the project is how to calculate GPE/ME/KE/and velocity. Our final product had to include a energy audit on certain parts of the roller coast such as; What is the GPE/ME/KE/and velocity at the top of coaster/ bottom of loop/ top of camel back/ and bottom of coaster. That was the main thing I learned in physics. |
What did I learn in Engineering? I didn't really learn too much besides how to use certain tools. I think the bandsaw really helped me in this because a lot of the things that we needed to build were needed to be cut to a certain line and that did the job really quickly and I was able to move on right away. Other than that I really didn't learn too much. Final Outcome Exhibition was a good outcome. There was kind of a big anticipation with a good outcome and I was pretty excited about it. I feel like I offered a lot to the group on the physical and building and my members took it and used me to the max. I was glad with my work and really excited. Over all if I had to grade myself i'd give myself a 9/10. I think the thing that separated our roller coaster from others is ours was made entirely from wood unlike everyone elses . |
