Cultural Connections
Dia De Los Muertos Reflection
How challenging was this project for you? Be specific.
This project was relatively easy for me because I used to participate in Dis De Los Muertos celebrations at my old school kind of making me more prepared as to what I was going to be doing in this project. I'd say that the hardest part was building the ofrenda it self just because that was the most time consuming thing in the project.
What did you enjoy most about this Cultural Connections project?
I enjoyed learning about history and culture in another subject than our world history and American history. It's nice learning about something other than the great American revolution... not saying that learning about our history is bad but its enjoyable not to learn the same thing every year.
Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone (teacher, parent, classmate, etc)? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful? (This could be for any part of the project, illustrated journal, ofrenda, exhibition)
I mainly received helpful feed back from my classmates and teachers because they were the ones who saw it the most other than me. I'd say it was helpful because in the long run I did make some changes to better a certain part of it.
What grade do you think you deserve? Why?
I believe I deserve an A. I put a lot of effort mentally by choosing the way the ofrenda was going to look, they way I presented it etc. I also put in a lot of time spray painting it making the effects of the paint really pop. I like doing stencils on almost anything and I thought that it'd be cool ad very different from others when it came to looks. I feel like mine stands out from the rest just because the way it was made and I like that.
If you could change something about this project, what would it be?
I wouldn't change anything just because I love the way it came out. It came at as how I imagined it. When I first started brain storming it I realized it could be done just how I imagined it just because it was this fairytale thought of how it'd look.
