College road trip reflection
Caleb Crozier
Describe what your experience was like this week.
No sleep, long car rides and fun school tours. Overall I liked the trip I just wish the tours were later in the day. I wish we went to more coastal schools just because I think everyone from socal has more of an appeal towards the coastal areas and I thought UC merced was way out of the way and not really worth it.
What differences did you notice between the different schools you visited?
Well there wasn't too many differences with the UC schools but cal poly and chapman were definitely different and stood out more than the others. The schools that weren’t UC had more options and I liked that. I also liked the campus of UCSB and Cal Poly
How has this experience changed/influenced your ideas around college? For example:
The distance is literally perfect for being away from home. Not too far but not close enough to the point where your parents are coming up every weekend. I like the area surrounding it and how half of slo’s population is made up of students. I think that I’d be more responsible at this college because they kind of baby you into it, then slowly get you into your routine and don’t leave you up to dry.
What are you most concerned about for college?
Honestly I feel like I’m going to be concerned to start but once I get into my rhythm I feel like I’ll be fine.
Are you interested in Study Abroad?
I guess it depends on what I’m studying and what opportunities are thrown at me. If it has anything to do with super cars or engines I would totally be down.
Did you hear about any clubs or organizations you would be interested in joining?
Yeah surfing club and gym club. Both I think would be fun because I participate in those activities outside of school so having that part of school could be cool.
What type of college (or trade school) are you interested in attending?
Cal Poly Slo
Do you think you will stay in-state, or go to another state/country?
In state
